Enterprise Ireland funded Innovation-as-Service Project (IaaS project), have had the opportunity to visit the Precision Engineering and Manufacturing (PEM) Centre in Sligo to capture their smart technology solutions.

The PEM Centre aims to service the needs of industry, working with companies to provide solutions to engineering and technical problems across their value chain and to contribute to the technical and academic body of knowledge within precision engineering and manufacturing and transfer that knowledge to Industry.

In showcasing the smart technology, the IaaS team completed a virtual tour of the PEM Technology Gateway, with a focus on the services their equipment can provide. The industry 4.0 solutions are being captured to display on the IaaS project’s directory of services that will be available soon.

The PEM Technology Gateway has developed the expertise in precision engineering, design for manufacture (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), mechanical engineering, materials science, micro-machining, polymer processing, rapid prototyping, general manufacturing process control and statistical process analysis.

The Technology Gateway and Technology Gateway Network is run by Enterprise Ireland in partnership with 16 Institutes of Technological Universities nationwide.
